May 9: Day Two-The Beginning! Chipping Campden to Stanton
Today’s theme: Oreos and Cookies and Cream (also made of Oreos). But this has little to do with food. We had a special sighting today of grazing cows in a pasture adjacent to our trail with Oreo markings- head and forelegs black, mid section white, rear and back legs black. Some were even Double Stuffed Oreos with an extra wide white section! Later at the end of the day we sat on a long, sloping green grass hill with sweeping views for a tea break and silently, steadily there crept over the hill from the left above and below us a large herd of sheep with curious black and white speckled patterns on their faces resembling cookies and cream ice cream! Each face had unique markings, and separately, slowly they munched the grass toward us until the closest one stopped about 15 yards away.. That’s it for tonight- walked 11 miles and am pooped. Will blog more about today tomorrow! Including pictures!
